If you're in Gauteng it's been like that for about 2 years, but then scalpers got on it
And Cape Town? Last time I just walked in, took about 30mins.

Maybe if you go over a certain age like 70. It's just stupid to require it from everybody when you literally have to be blind as a bat to pose a real danger. So you have no issue with a half blind 95 year old person driving around?![]()
Did the new system reduce road deaths or illegal licenses? So you have no issue with a half blind 95 year old person driving around?![]()
You can book at Verulem and Winkelspruit. There is an email address and phone numbers. I booked telephonicially at Winkelspruit in July but skipped the appointment as my ID was not ready yet. Booked via email for this week in Verulem. My wife did hers at Verulem last December through the booking system. She was in and out in 10 minutesBooking an appointment?
Not in KZN.
Turn up at 06h30 and wait in a queue.
Odd. I didn't need to do an eye test at all: I just showed them the certificate from my optometrist. This was in Edenvale in March of this year.My traffic department said they still test everyone. Only if you fail then they will they accept the test from the optometrist.
Whats the website address for the booking system?
Is there an advantage using this vs. just rocking up on a random day?
Well, I have been trying to book a renewal for my drivers licence card using the system and I cannot find any open slots at all.Is there an advantage using this vs. just rocking up on a random day?
ag shem waiting until the last movementScramble to renew driver's licences before deadline
South Africans are scrambling to renew their driver’s licences before the 31 August deadline, but problems with the online booking system are causing frustration among motorists.
Last year, the transport minister extended the grace period to renew driving licences that expired between 26 March 2020 and December 2020 until 31 August 2021.
With the deadline now less than three weeks away, many South Africans are rushing to renew their licences.
