SABC
19 radio stations
~4 TV Stations - SABC1,2,3 SABC4(Mafikeng), SABC5(CT), SABC Africa SABC News
These are all "commercial" in that they run many adverts with most of their revenue coming from advertising.
and yet SABC can't make a profit

eMedia Holdings
~8 TV Stations - ENCA, e.TV, eMovies, eMovies Extra, eToons, eReality, eRewind, OpenNews
A radio channel y-FM
Primedia
~5 stations 702, CapeTalk, Kaya FM, 947, KFM

eMedia & Primedia both make good profits and don't ask for taxpayer money

WTF is wrong with SABC?

serious non-facetious question. could you enlighten me on what success they had with dudu?

Former SAA chair Dudu Myeni has been declared a delinquent director, the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) said on Wednesday.

The ruling effectively means that Myeni will not be able to be a director at any entity.

It comes after an application, launched in 2017 by Outa and the SAA Pilots' Association (SAAPA), to declare Myeni a delinquent director in terms of the Companies Act, based on her actions while she was chairperson of the SAA board.

YES!...

Although we all know it's never gonna happen.

Also, SABC fees is a legacy of apartheid yet government is ok with it.
By Jove (or something) I think you have the answer: start a Black Twitter campaign of Bell Pottinger proportions against SABC Licence Fees which are labelled as a "WMC conspiracy that secretly funds the DA and pays for the Bloody Agents to fly around for free in the New SAA trying to bring back Apartheid".

Problem solved, of course the SABC and SAA will be burnt to the ground by EFFoff and cANCer party supporters but so be it.
My antivirus goes crazy everytime I load a page on the SABC website.
Serious question: why did you visit the SABC website more than once? (the definition of insanity comes to mind)

Declared a delinquent director AFAIK.
She ruined the lives of hundreds of employees and their families who face retrenchment now at SAA. That delinquency thing seems like a slap on the wrist, no? If they got her jail time, I would agree they did something worthwhile. Of all the hundreds and hundreds of billions of rands of tax money abuse, they haven't stopped or curbed sht. In fact, we are bailing out SAA, which means more tax money in the toilet. And for that the sheep want to donate?

And yet they did more to her than anyone else has.

Hopefully her life is ruined now too.

Is OUTA going to be just as successful in scrapping Tv licenses like they scrapped etolls?

Asking for a friend? :cautious:
What can they really do except give the politicians some advice that will never be followed.

They said they would help people in the courts. The government is scared to test it, so we wait.

That will only work if South Africans operate as a collective and boycotts the TV licence payment renewal. It would cost them a ton more to use the services of debt collectors on every single citizen in this country. This would send them into a bigger hole and hopefully shut down

No offense man, really, I say this will all due respect, but if you think a delinquency ruling will ruin the life of a thing like Dudu, you are sorely mistaken. There are hundreds of others ways for people like her to keep raking in cash.
You're right, the other day she paid her lawyers in bundles of R200's.

TV License thing is outdated. SABC has been in a steady decline, no private citizen wants to support essentially an ANC mouthpiece.

You unreasonably expect OUTA to do the NPA's job when Dudu Myeni and the rest of the Zuma faction aren't being prosecuted, the first glimmer of hope was Muggershule's arrest but he still has to stand trial and that case isn't even a Gupta corruption case.

The wheels of justice turn slowly, except in SA they often turn in reverse or come to a complete standstill.

Instead of criticising OUTA for doing more than you or any of us have done to halt Dudu Myeni's reign of destruction, tell us what you would have done in OUTA's shoes.
