I've been looking for alternate software for my SEv630i phone. The SE PC suite that came with it is Bulll****.

So, i've tried several different ones so far and have found one that is a darn side better than the one that came with my phone.

Its got a great interface, easy to use, and straight to the point (everything that PC suite isnt)

You can even use your PC's keyboard to scroll through your phones menu, type sms's, play songs etc.

It even tells you what your Signal % is at.

If you got a SE phone, try it - its free.

Does anybody know how to get rid of the vodafone software without having to go to extremes of purchasing credits from some shady internet hacking community, All i want is the original SE software on my phone because honestly, Vodafone's functionality and icons are UGLY! :)

Someone did post here recently saying that their brother (or rellie) owns a little mobile phone shop, and he does it all the time, cost 50 bux or something.

Unfortuntley, i didnt keep track of that topic/post.

Doing something like this is best done on referal, i reckon.

yea, been scratching around for the right software to do the job - just a matter of time before i find it : ) not really worried about warranty with this fone, i'm more worried about my sanity with this stupid vodafone software.

Btw this Phone Explorer software is very nice!. good find!.

@boodles

that Phone explorer s/ware is absolutely fantastic! Thanks a million!

I downloaded and installed last night and loved the fact that you can export all your stuff to an excel spread sheet.

Very good find, indeed.

its not that hard to debrand a phone now.. :) but anyway

Ye one of my 2nd fav software first obviously being FAR manager.
I like that we can backup sms's on myphone ex.

I had a problem with my K800i a while ago. It just plain refused to boot correctly after I switched it off. I did not feel like waiting two weeks for this software problem to be sorted out by whoever has the contract to service the SE phones, so I used this service:

http://www.davinciteam.com/

which worked perfectly to flash my phone back to health.

This could be used for debranding purposes as well.

and that's exactly what i don't want to do, pay some hacker to flash my phone with odd software that interfaces with a server wile flashing the phone - too dodgy, and they want 50 euro's - nothanks.

It actually does not interface with the server. You download the client and then your phone-specific image. You can then disconnect from the Internet while flashing the phone. In any case, why are you worried that someone else will get to see what is on your phone? Unless you are an employee of the national intelligence agency, I don't really see the problem.

As far as the 50 euros are concerned, it is not that unreasonable, because it saves you the time and hassles interfacing with someone at the SE service centre! :D

What you need is MOBTIME CELLPHONE MANAGER I use it with my SE S700i as long as you have a cable / bluetooth between your PC and phone:cool:

Did I say that i'm worried about what people may discover on my phone? Not what i said!. What i said was that i don't want software that's flashing the phone that relies on a server that gets the information online to flash the phone during the process! what if the net goes down? IS has been very unstable of late!
And in any case, if anybody wants to scratch around my files on my phone, all they will find is Pu$$y pics... err.. yea the kitty kat type : ) Meow :D

Its Very unreasonable, considering its hacking the phone, and altering the licencing conditions that came with the phone. ontop of that there are other sites that do this for 7 euros.

@boodles
Thanks for the link, I'll download the 2.5 Meg when I have a better line.

I'm after something that will manage SMSs. There are a few I need to keep and my phone is full so that would be handy.

I've used the proggie quite a bit now, and find it a very nice app to use.

Well, if the net goes down while you are flashing it, you just start again. As I said, as long as you already downloaded the client and phone-specific image, you don't need the net any longer.

That might be, but then you will most probably end up with exactly the backstreet-hacker scenario you referred to.
