Yes latest cash price for it is R6999...price came down when the Air 2 was released.
You could run the serial number on Apple's website to see when the warranty kicked in. If there is close to the full year left, you could ask close to the full price of R6999...otherwise if there is, say, less than 11 months left, you probably need to drop the price quite a bit to attract buyers. Like R6000 or less...for example, most people will not buy one for R6500 if they can just go into the shop, and put down an extra R500 and get a full warranty.
Unfortunately in today's age, everybody is afraid of scams, so the only thing that motivates people to buy something privately from a stranger, is a decent reduction in price. Otherwise they tend to just pay in a little extra for peace of mind.
For interest's sake, I got one like this almost a year ago, when the new cash price was still R8500. I wanted to sell it, buy the wifi-only model cash for R5999 (since I don't need the "cellular" model's extra features) and pocket the difference as spending money. So I advertised it for R7500, later even R7000, and didn't get ANY response...decided not to try for R6000-6500, because then I might just as well keep the "higher" model, which I did.
The active market is, unfortunately, with second hand iPad 2's, 3's and 4's...
