Section 12j Venture Capital investments - recommendations

I see this topic not yet popped up in the forum, was wondering if anyone has made an investment in such companies recently (and getting the added tax benefit!) - something I'm looking into but without any great success, anyone that can shed some light who took an investment in one of these companies..?
