How would you rate your self esteem out of 10 (to state the obvious: 1 would be lower then pig poo and 10 would be demi god)?

I find there can be such a strange combination of arrogance and insecurity in some people. How does that work?

Do I really need to answer or is it universally accepted that I am a 10?

Ooh, look, I answered like a demi-god already...:D

Arrogance and confidence are easily mistaken.

Mistaken for what? I understand that arrogance can be mistaken for confidence but what are both mistaken for?

The reason I dont understand the combination of arrogance and low self esteem (which I assume to be the basis of insecurity) is because I think of arrogance as a baseless assumption that you are fscking fabulous and everybody else needs to know it. So my question: how can the 2 co-exist in one person?

Noun 1. arrogance - overbearing pride evidenced by a superior manner toward inferiors

Possibly supremely arrogant in one setting, and lacking self confidence in another?

Or even in the same situation at different times - my self confidence levels vary according how much sleep I got, whether it's sunny, how the drive to work was, etc etc. But then I'm never really arrogant.

But I do have other pairs of personality traits that seem to be contradictory. I don't know how it can be, it just is :D

to some people you might come across as confident and to others arrogant. there is a very thing line between the two.

the dictionary meaning... the pride has to be evidenced before you can say they are arrogant. and again, what you think and i are different...

Narcissistic types usually develop extreme arrogant behaviour to cover up their low sense of self or self-esteem. They over-compensate.

I would say 9.5. Some people think I am arrogant, well, maybe sometimes......

It depends on what company I'm in.

I've been in the professional company of intellectual giants and in the company of those whose intellect borders on the dangerous.

I've rubbed shoulders with playboys but I could never even come close to even faking the type of confidence they exhibit.

Last night at a dinner party I sat next to the most beautiful woman that anyone of YOU have ever seen. We had a fantastic conversation. I, for one or other weird reason found plenty to talk about and we chatted endlessly ... till I found out she was engaged to be married to a ****ing engineer. I almost told her, sarcastically:
"Well done, you have made a very safe choice in choosing a husband and I hope in works out for you ... and BTW, do you know what engineers used as a contraceptive ... their personalities!"

As I feel now ... All women can go **** themselves.
