No offence, but isn't R3300 asking a bit much when you can get a new 7900GT which performs about the same if not better for R3000?

What I could see in reviews, you're right when saying the 7900GT 256mb performs better than the 7800GTX 256mb

I am interested to know what happened to the card, not from a buying perspective – I would just like to know. Is it better to sell a topend card after a year or so or buy another and use it in a Sli config.
