[Sending faxes from a] Z500 3g phone

Howzit,

I have the samsung Z500 3g phone and a laptop. No problem with dialup on gprs, surfing the net or email, but I would like to send faxes using the phone as modem.
I am battling to get it working and would appreciate any help.
I am using the standard MS fax program for windows xp home, that I always use with my Telkom line and internal modem. I have changed the modem to use setting, in the fax program, but the program seems unbale to pick up the line or dial out. It does it's 3 retries and then stops.
I a using a USB cable link to the phone; I cant find any info on the fax capabilities of the phone; Can't find any settings on the phone to change;
As mentioned above, no problem with the normal dial up connection.
My questions are :
Can the samsung Z500 modem handle faxes ?
Do I need to add a specific command string in the advanced section of the modem settings ? other than the dial up connection command;
Do I need to dial up first? Not the case with the landline and internal modem;

Either the phone can't handle faxes, or my settings somewhere are wrong;
