From the article:

Sounds like indirect involvement to me. It would be speculation to say that there was direct involvement, at this stage in any case

Show us a link between those specific 5 cops and their involvement in Horners murder? Why have they only been charged with stock theft? You don't know who Horners killers are but you already linked the cops to them, how? For now those cops are involved in stock theft and nothing else until evidence is presented proving otherwise.

Brendin Horner case: State drops murder charge against accused

The men accused of murdering 21-year-old Brendin Horner will now only be charged with the theft of two sheep after the State conceded it had no case against them in respect of murder.

According to Eyewitness News, prosecutor advocate Jacque Harrington said he still believed Sekola Matlaletsa and Sekwetje Mahlamba have a stock theft case to answer to.

Horner was strangled to death on the farm where he worked. His body was discovered the following day by colleagues.

News24 previously reported he was stabbed several times and had abrasions on his thigh, which seemed to indicate he had been dragged across a gravel road.

Someone obviously got to the witness not sure what that has anything to do with politics.
Which witness? All I got from the article is that forensic evidence pretty much exonerated the accused.

The police are absolutely useless. The DNA evidence have been part of the case the very beginning, which would prevent something like this from happening.

Will the police start another investigation to try and find the people responsible or will it just be tossed in the bin to protect their buddies.

“None of the accused fingerprints match those found in the bakkie. The blood samples that were analysed proved to be blood samples of three persons other than the two accused,” said Musi.

Matlaletsa and Mahlamba’s cell phone records also indicated that they were not near the crime scene at the relevant time, he said.

The blood stains identified in the clothes recovered from Mahlamba’s house “did not match with the blood of the deceased,” said Musi.

Additionally, both Matlaletsa and Mahlamba gave alibis to their whereabouts at the time the crime occurred, he said.

“The only evidence that linked the two accused to the commission of the offences, are the purported confessions or admissions made by Matlaletsa in the presence or absence of Mahlamba to various witnesses.

As I said in another thread. The biggest failure of this investigation was the lack of forensic processing, at a time it was unbeknown to the public that the system was compromised. Odd, though, that this was made a public spectacle, even attended by Cele who would have known about the 'issues' in the backend. The case was postponed time and time again because the court had to wait on results, though no one at the police or the NPA made a peep about the issue, sure they knew.

No evidence processing, no results, would mean that no new suspects would have been pursued. See the problem here? I do blame the police, the NPA and the Cele here, they knew there was no lead time, but no one will acknowledge it. Being aware about the issue and not reporting it, especially when the case is publicly volatile... circus.

However, the Hawks are pursuing a syndicate... whether there will be results or any further progress in Horner's murder, only time will tell.
