I have no issue forgoing a placement fee to assist this specific candidate, as I placed him in the position 8 years ago and we have stayed in contact, now that he is being retrenched I will do my utmost to assist. As I don't have an available position available at the moment, I will use the mean's I have to help him secure a new position. As I own the company I have every right to do so, I don't just do this "job" because I make money from it.

Is this yet another thing that recruiter's do wrong? or are you just grumpy today?
