You know, Sentech is probably contributing to slow uptake of the net in SA as well... if they were out the picture, people would turn their attention to broadband...

My TV license should entitle me to uncapped local at the very least for the year.

would anyone actually notice? Sometimes I think the snowy fuzz is more entertaining than what SABC has to offer.

shut it down. if the SABC can't run itself properly, using the money for large Salaries & bonuses, then let it be shut down.

Then I don't have to pay a LICENSE because I own a LCD (Which is used for PC Exclusively - NO TV has been "tunned-in", EVER)

let the buggers learn the hard way. and to all those people that never pay their TV Licenses - Haha! kry vir julle!

The title is a bit misleading, the SABC has been paying Sentech just fine. Sentech only said there is a possible RISK that SABC might not pay , and only THEN would they consider cutting off the signal.

There is no indication right now that there's any lack of payments from the SABC to Sentech.

Sentech has identified the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as a potential business risk, although the public broadcaster has being paying its bills to the national signal distributor on time.

but there is. (that there will be a "lack", sometime in the near future)

Recently, the SABC has been hit by the news that it needs a R2 billion cash injection from government and has failed to pay some of its bills, particularly to satellite TV broadcaster MultiChoice and media production houses. This crisis manifested itself further in a raft of board resignations from the SABC during the past week.

That's no reason to advocate for Sentech to stay operational!
