Welcome

Apparently the Hennopspark tower is active according to some other posts. I'm in Weltevredenpark in Jhb and I should have no signal according to the Zone Locator, but here I am typing away on MySmokeSignal.
The Zone Locator is not 100% Best bet is to physically go on site with a laptop/notebook and modem and see if you get a connection. You might get signal, but not a connection, because it could be too far from the tower.

There are signal testers around. Try http://rational.co.za/ (not www.rational.co.za)

From my dealings with them I'm left with the impression that Sentech's frontline systems are definitely the weakest link in their chain. I just contacted them with a query about why I hadn't been billed since May and they told me I'm not a Sentech subscriber, nowhere to be found on their system, they said!!! Guess I'll just keep on using this suddenly free connection at their expense - if they're so incompetent that I no longer exist to them and they've stopped billing me but I still have connectivity, well, all I have to say is BWAHAHAHA!!!

MySmokeSignal ... with apologies to regardtv :)

as far as I know about Common Law: If you agreed to pay for something and they don't bill you, put the money you would have paid in a savings account somewhere, because they can clam it once they sort out their system.
The same goes if you get paid too much on your salary due to a computer glitch. The company is still the rightfull owner of the part of money that's in excess.

Yip, but how long do you think it will take them to realise this?? AFAIK, they can't charge interest for the backpayments if it is their fault for not charging me??

I wonder what the actual equivalent bit rate is on real smoke signals - I reckon you can get about two distinct puffs of smoke off a good fire per second which would make it about half a bit per second?? - hey regardtv - good analogy then as that's about the level where my sentech connection periodically goes although I must say its been much more stable recently.

Give them time. The government realised end of last month that they overpaid a few of the dentists doing community service. The total amounts to around R16000 total per person for the first 6 months of the year.
They have to pay it back now. Even wihout interest it's still a bitch
