9 episodes into Jessica Jones and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I'm a fan of detective fiction so that has a lot to do with it...her superpowers are only incidental to the usual haunted detective themes rather a central part of the narrative.

David Tennant is pretty good as is Carrie-Anne Moss (i spent the first episode thinking Robin Wright from House of Cards had dyed her hair ).

Yes please!!!!1 Hungry for a proper SciFi .

The only way we will ever see "proper" sci-fi is when HBO decides to branch off into this genre....otherwise "in space no one will hear our screams of agony" while we struggle through another vastly mediocre sci-fi series.

I have to agree with you. Sci-Fi really released s**t the past couple of years. I do not have much hope for The Expanse, but will wait a month or two to see some reviews of the first 8 or so episodes.

As a fan of the book series, this totally hits the mark. To the tee. We see a cast of characters thrown into mystery and intrigue, which plays out exactly as it does in the novel. But not only is this right on the money when it comes to the story. The depth of care they took in recreating the Belter accents, gestures, and language, a hodgepodge of multiple earth languages, is remarkable and rewarding. The entire show feels on the brink of a larger conflict, an atmosphere that leaves you wanting to see how everything plays out, immediately. The sets are massive, gritty, and totally SciFi. This really is the show we’ve been waiting for since BSG.

The team is already confident on a Season 2 greenlight, and will begin writing Season 2 soon. With a $5 Million per-episode budget, you can be sure this’ll look and feel as epic as it should. This will definitely be the show to watch out for this winter.
