Is always insulting others really a worthy use of energy? Is being a grownup too hard to handle? Can't you find something actually useful to do? Is your life really that empty? Do you need a hobby? What?
You could choose to ignore as well. Just saying . . .

A Stephen King book has been made into a series...again.

I've read it and it is really good, but SK on TV has never really blown my skirt up, except for Mr Mercedes, I guess.

The catch?...It's on HBO !

And I cannot recall ever watching something on HBO that I didn't find excellent.

No surprise another of his books has been picked up, SK is indeed a master storyteller. In fact I enjoyed reading Under the Dome so much that I decided not to watch the series for fear of spoiling my memories of it.

That he is, but there must be something about his stories that producers find mostly impossible to translate to movies or tv.

The Dome is a perfect example.

Granted there have been some successes but they are far outnumbered by 725628

Succession S2 is better than S1. Some of the best writing on TV.

From S2E1 (spoiler alert):
"It doesn't matter what you offer; he'll never recommend this to the board. You're gonna bleed cash. He's gonna bleed cash. It will never end. And maybe, you'll kill him, but if you don't, he aims to kill you. He will go bankrupt or go to jail before he lets you beat him. He will kill you on the business and if that doesn't work, he will send people around. He will send men to kill your pets and **** your wives, and it will never be over, so that's the message"

His books are so enjoyable because he crafts great characters...looking at them critically, the stories themselves are kinda ordinary from a narrative perspective. When translated to the screen, if the show doesn't get the texture of his settings and characters down, all that's left is a pretty lame story (he uses deus ex machina type solutions a lot - The Outsider is a perfect example of that).

Probably already been mentioned (and if so, I apologize but am not trawling through nearly 7,000 posts to check) but Mindhunter season 2 is fantastic. Literally only at the end of the last episode do I realize it's based on a true story (which I really enjoy). Really hope Netflix renews for season 3.

No worries...

Mindhunter is brilliant and S02 was even better than S01. There's definitely a S03 coming.
