I've read it and it is really good, but SK on TV has never really blown my skirt up, except for Mr Mercedes, I guess.

The catch?...It's on HBO !

And I cannot recall ever watching something on HBO that I didn't find excellent.

I've read it and it is really good, but SK on TV has never really blown my skirt up, except for Mr Mercedes, I guess.

No surprise another of his books has been picked up, SK is indeed a master storyteller. In fact I enjoyed reading Under the Dome so much that I decided not to watch the series for fear of spoiling my memories of it.

That he is, but there must be something about his stories that producers find mostly impossible to translate to movies or tv.

The Dome is a perfect example.

Granted there have been some successes but they are far outnumbered by

Now this was one of King's most epic books. I think I've read it 3 times.

Epic story, also read the book a couple of times. Still remember watching it on VHS, was like 8 tapes.

His books are so enjoyable because he crafts great characters...looking at them critically, the stories themselves are kinda ordinary from a narrative perspective. When translated to the screen, if the show doesn't get the texture of his settings and characters down, all that's left is a pretty lame story (he uses deus ex machina type solutions a lot - The Outsider is a perfect example of that).

Probably already been mentioned (and if so, I apologize but am not trawling through nearly 7,000 posts to check) but Mindhunter season 2 is fantastic. Literally only at the end of the last episode do I realize it's based on a true story (which I really enjoy). Really hope Netflix renews for season 3.

Mindhunter is brilliant and S02 was even better than S01. There's definitely a S03 coming.
