Series [Please do NOT post any spoilers] - Season VI

Just finished episode 2 of Adolescence - it's gripping. Stephen Graham co-wrote and stars (excellent as usual) in a mini-series about the killing of a young girl.

The show uses the one-shot trick to increase immersion - it works well for a police procedural format kind of show (the series isn't specifically about police procedure though).

Also finished episode 2 this weekend. Very good show, surprised it hasnt got more airtime in this thread.

The one shot trick is done well - also means that what they show in the episode typically transpires in the space of an hour.

Looking forward the next 2 episodes

Netflix reveals secrets behind Adolescence's ambitious and technical single-shot filming:

In the thread, the streamer confirmed there were no cuts in any of the episodes, before revealing that each episode was filmed many times, with the initial plan being to film each instalment in full 10 times – once in the morning, once in the afternoon, across five days.

For instance, the second episode features hundreds of child extras as it takes place in a school, and ends on a drone shot which leads into a final close-up of Stephen Graham's character.

If the above is true - then its properly something else to watch - I watched that second episode in the school - one shot? WOW!!!

Meh, I'd prefer to have the best possible show with editing rather than making due just because we can't stop filming.

Sometimes doing something because you can isn't necessary.

I dont think they "just made do" because they cant stop filming - give the show a shot.

I didnt know it was all one shot at first, took nothing away from the story and how well its told - mind you i am only half way through.
