24 was good, for most seasons but it doesn't compete with Breaking Bad, in the sense that they are two completely different shows, from different TV eras, and traditionally targeted at different audiences imo...

I agree that the later seasons lacked the magic of the early seasons, as scenarios started repeating themselves, but I do think, comparing with today's series, that 24 is still superior to just about everything. In fact, season 1 is my favourite season. And I actually think Breaking Bad and 24 fans are one in the same. Both series have their intriguing storylines with plot twists and action, and both series feels very real in the sense that what happens in these shows can easily happen in real life as well. But 24 keeps me on the edge of my seat in every episode, and keeps me guessing what will happen next around every corner where Breaking Bad keeps me guessing what will happen in the long haul. The adrenaline rush and constant suspense 24 provides makes it the winner in my books.

I always said Breaking Bad just got better with age. Kinda like me :D

Interesting site.

Sopranos Season 4 wasn't that bad :erm:
Clearly Charlie Sheen had a few groupies, but things are changing :)
I see it also confirms that XIII Season 2 was a waste of time
True Blood also reached its sell by date

I was making good progress on Sopranos after finishing the Wire but I've hit a roadblock on season 4... The episode where Pauly and Christopher were lost in the woods was funny but the rest...

Another way to look at it is that the first season is 10x worse so why even bother?

Somebody mentioned previously the Breaking Bad 1st season was also a bit slow - some things improve with age.

True Detective had a superb introduction and I believe that this series may be the very best in 2014.

I've tried Breaking Bad, can't get past the first 2 episodes, feel like i'm missing out as everyone raves so hard about it, I just don't see it :erm: :D

It's the pace of the show that puts people off at first. It picks up tremendously, and the pace of the first season is absolutely spot-on for the story that is being told, and that will be told as the show continues.

I always feel like a rep for the show when I post about it as I have such admiration for the show, but once again, view it as an investment that will very shortly pay off...

No issues with that.
If this episode is anything to go by then it will be good regardless.

It's not just you Defiance is utter rubbish. Avoid.

Agreed.

Stick with it. Well worth it in the end. Well depending on how you interpret the controversial ending :whistling:

I see a few award nominations in its future.

I still started watching the Pilot episode about 4 times before I actually watched the whole episode. Then when I got to the "bath scene" (ep 2, I think it was) I was totally hooked. Luckily it could binge watch the whole season at the time :D

A few of the only series that I have ever re-watched for a second time (or third in BB's case) are:

Breaking Bad, True Blood, Dexter, The Sopranos and the brilliant old series Millenium.

I agree, watch it last night. And it looks like it is going to be great.

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the intro reminded me a lot about True Blood's intro. Similar style.

Finally! People who share my sentiment. Yes, Breaking Bad is epic. But 24 is really TV perfection. It grips you and keeps you on the edge of your seat constantly. 24 making it's return this year is far and away the biggest TV event of 2014. I just can't wait!

Another season if 24??? Please tell me you are not kidding!

Best TV Show ever. Californication slots in at number 2.

Pretty much the same. I enjoyed it, but not glued to the screen (like with 24). Bit too much dialogue for my liking - but good nevertheless.

Lost was another series I could not get into yet majority of peeps raved about it. I thought it was junk.
