Every episode is like a movie experience. Considering the script, the acting, the production quality and the directing, it's actually quite astonishing that they're able to churn them out as fast as they do. It is like watching a movie series more than a TV series...

As DJ... said, it's more akin to a mini-movie than a series. And there are only 3 episodes per season. I don't mind the format, tbh. Shorter season, but very high quality and packs a mother of a punch.

It almost makes me nauseous thinking how they'd ruin it by trying to stretch it to 22 episode seasons...

The show will be a repackaged version of every episode of HBO's Da Ali G Show, as well as the first six episode of the British version of the program. Even better, each episode will feature new in-character introductions from Baron Cohen

I don't mind it, but it is a very dumbed down version of Sherlock Holmes, in both character portrayal and story-telling. It's also very procedural, making it very predictable.

I typically love a show's over-arcing story and find the procedural crap to be...well...crap. In Elementary, their Moriarty-arc is terrible. Just another misunderstood psychopath with minor issues blown out of proportion, and an unhealthy obsession with the lead character. It could be any crime show on American television.

Elementary isn't bad. It's just not terribly good. And their Watson is one of the most annoying characters on television. Fscking whiny, self-righteous cow portrayed by one of Hollywood's worst actresses...
