Serious Problem at MTN with New SIMS and Buying DATA BUNDLES.

Those of you who have bought a new SIM and are trying to load a data bundle, forget it.

There is a problem at MTN. Apparently you can credit a new account with a recharge voucher, but you can't load the data bundle.

You may be able to grab an old SIM and use that as long as you have waited 30 days since the last reload.

Oh, and don't try asking the operators to transfer the credit. Even if you had the patience to try and explain to those logically challenged individuals what the problem is and what the suggested solution would be (give yourself a medal for achievement :rolleyes:)-->>That is impossible currently, though I seem to remember a time when it was possible, without an engineer. Perhaps someone can confirm this??

I've loaded R15.00 MTN airtime at 7h30 to buy a 10Meg bundle to download my email, just to find out that i cannot buy a bundle. (something like "your data purchase cannot be processed at this time") I've dialed 173 to report the problem, but i was told to wait 30 min's and then try again. It was mentioned that there is a problem with 141. After 30 min's i've tried again and it was the same message. Dialed 173 again about the problem, but no luck again. So i asked if i can buy data from the site = "yes you can if i go to the MTN Loaded website". So i logged on to the MTN Loaded website just to see "An error has occured. Please try again in a short while" :confused:

I'll try again tomorrow. :eek::eek:

I just got some notice about that, apparently there is a problem and its being investigated currently.

The words "It will be fixed in a few hours" take on new meaning 12 hours later :rolleyes:

Is this fixed yet. I'm getting tired of trying to buy this frikkin data bundle.

@ Skeptik, after you buy the bundle that's where the hard part comes in - actually using the bundle because the billing system isn't the only service that is experiencing "serious problems" :rolleyes:

Last night dialed 141 again, load bundle without problems. Better than my previous attempts. :rolleyes:

MTN seems to be flying tonight :D Pity I can't buy a bundle with my included top up air time :(
