South African coal mining company building R4-billion wind farm

Seriti Resources, a South African coal producer, said it has a long-term agreement to source power from a wind farm that will be built by its green energy unit.

The 155-megawatt, 4-billion rand ($235 million) project by Seriti Green, to be developed in the nation’s coal-rich Mpumalanga province, will provide electricity for mining operations, group Chief Financial Officer Doug Gain told reporters in Cape Town Thursday.

Another company that will be less reliant on ESKOM.

Eskom just keeps losing customers and they don't seem to care at all .

Serriti... Doesn't some cANCer big wigs have shares in the company or family members....

Ja nee, it's completely BEE and AA, top to bottom. But Seriti is nowehere to be found, not any reference to disgraced judge Willie "Whitewash" Seriti, of Jacob Zuma's Arms Procurement Commission fame, which spanned 4 years and cost the taxpayer 100 million rands. Those with better tools and who are more tenacious than I may want to scratch deeper.

Corruption campaigners have long denounced the inquiry, set up by Zuma in 2011 and headed by Judge Willie Seriti, as a “whitewash” and challenged its findings in court.

The High Court found the inquiry had failed to comprehensively examine corruption allegations over the deal to buy 30 billion rand ($2 billion) of European military hardware for the South African armed forces.

Zuma was linked to the deal through his former financial adviser, who was jailed for corruption, but denied wrongdoing.

The High Court found the Seriti inquiry had failed to test witnesses with an open and inquiring mind.
