Hi

I have ordered my adsl (and 2 accounts) so in the mean time am finding out every tip and trick and fact about it, settling on running a proxie over your network, this is confusing me. So a few questions...

1) Which is the most user friendly proxie to use
2) Does the proxie apply to all pc's including the one it is installed on ?
3) What would I put in the proxie settings ?
4) Can you kinda guide me through it

Thanks

Why do you wanna setup your network to work through a proxy? Unless you have a specific reason for doing this, rather do the following...

Just take the modem (if you got the ehternet modem/router), plug it into your hub/switch and configure your IP Gateway settings on each PC to use the router.

If you do not know how to do this simply run the networking wizard on each PC, when you are asked how the PC connects to the internet choose the second option (uses a gateway) and apply the settings.

When you get your router from Telkom there will be a nice little booklet also telling you exactly what to do if you are still in doubt.

The box said to install Win95 or better, so I installed Linux

If you really want to, this one is pretty simple and does the job!
