Well thats worrying.

Many people also wanted Zuma to stay in power and look where that got us.

Everyone and I mean everyone should be held accountable. If De Ruyter isnt performing, he should be removed as Eskom boss.

So. He must not allow for IPP providers to supply onto the grid. And should lower charges on grid connected solar users. Imagine you get even half of Cape Town houses running solar, how much electricity will it provide to the other areas in the country too.

So allow for green energy and actually connect to it and lower charges or get out. Just talking about it is useless if you dont allow connection to it. And so far they havent connected to a single IPP provider which is well pathetic.

Talk is cheap, we need action De Ruyter. And we need it now.

When Eskom first started loadshedding they went from suburb to suburb with lightbulbs to help reduce electricity, let alone Geyser duvets etc. Where are they now. What about rolling out LED bulbs?
You're comparing Zuma and De Ruyter???
You expect 15 years of damage to be fixed in 2 years??? Your problem is that you're not being realistic.

He is/was in the ANC, probably only for business reasons, so I don't like him.

You can't expect André de Ruyter be held accountable, if the ANC and unions are the final decision makers.

The ANC is alway transparency this & transparency that. Let there be transparency and show both sides of the decision making. I bet André wants to get rid of corruption at Eskom, but then cANCer & Union's stop him. And to say somebody is racist just because you are corrupt is also not the answer.

I don't want his job.
I bet you would find any excuse in the book, how is the ANC and Unions stopping him from getting rid of corruption? And how was he able to get rid of Tshitangano?

Your post confused me. On the one hand you say he must not allow IPP to connect to and feed into the grid, but you want home solar to be allowed to connect and feed into the grid. Home solar is just small scale IPP.
One that is ALREADY allowed to connect to the grid...

Misformed people say misinformed stuff

I am fast learning that a CEO is accountable for ****all. So what exactly does the job entail? Looking pretty and earning a fat salary?

By supporting and enabling it.

As for Solly, low hanging fruit on the cadre tree always gets picked off first.

And please don't cherry pick and tackle my Solly comment to avoid the former one. That one is far more important.
I love it, so you are effectively guiding me on how to respond to your post? Why did you respond to Solly if it isn't important? How exactly was he a low hanging fruit?

And how is the ANC and unions supporting and enabling corruption at Eskom?

He was anything but a low hanging fruit..

I would say the Chief Procurement Officer is at the heart of the corruption i.e. R500 brooms, R25 toilet paper rolls - remember?

Plus, Andre is at the top, so he should be in control right?

Have you seen the municipalities that are in debt being load reduced?

All I want is fair value.
Not this again :(

Fair value is the 80c they offer. They can buy it from Eskom at that kind of rate.

The price you pay of 1.8-2.8/kwh is an all in cost with no peak KVA charges, nominated demand etc.

Do they deposit that 80c into my bank account?

No...
But they are a utility providing the grid to you.
You probably need BEE points to become a supplier, and you would have to be registered with ICASA and get a license. They do it for reasons on ADMIN not economics.

You cannot be a trading generator of electricity in SA unless you are eskom... Its the law.

Some points:

@Corelli
Imagine a world where the Eskom CEO decides if IPP can push back into the grid.
In the real world Government decides this.

People must realise that Andre is just a CEO at Eskom. He does not make or change policies. That is the Government which is essentially the ANC.

“De Ruyter and his COO, Jan Oberholzer, are good people. To let them go now makes no sense whatsoever,” Rossouw said.
Sure, they are "good" people, please stay on.

Experts/Poepolle/People, need to understand that stop saying what you want, when you want. Think before you speak.
