1. We're all agreed that Telkom would cancel SGS if they felt that way inclined.
2. Until you provide an alternative service and find out how hard it is, shut up.
3. If you agreed to a code of conduct or whatever and then later break that agreement be prepared to accept the consequences of those actions.

Ignoring the pathetic trolls, stupidity and moronic responses from known SGS advocates namely...

you twat.

Thanks for bringing me to my other point, and for showing the world the professionalism and tact that SGS admins exude. Do you expect *anyone* to listen to you? Do you kiss your mother with that mouth? If *you* act like that, can you expect the people you censor to respect it or yourself?

I'll have a NO with a side of fries, and make that super sized. And no, I'm not going to read anything you ever say, ever again so you can talk to the wall in the corner you should be in.

I have taken the time to read the complete topic and what I see between the lines is that a certain amount of people have been removed from the SGS forums for causing *** and are now upset cause they can't post anymore and feel that they have been excluded from the SGS community. Have any of you banned folks contacted the gamesmaster and said sorry for your *** and asked to be unbanned?
I dont think so.

Firstly, I had not posted on the SGS forums in about 6 months, I just read them. Suddenly I could no longer read them - I asked the admins why, and it was because I was "banned", the reason for this was "I'm clearly trying to harm SGS"; more details were exposed that it was due to a post I made on *this* forum (http://www.myadsl.co.za) about their involvement with bit-torrent (yes, a conspiracy theory). The same has been done to others, but less obviously as well to those who mentioned the words "Telkom" and "crap" in the same sentence. I'm not sure what code of conduct I broke, but I'm certainly going to slag SGS untill the bitter end for as long as I like now - and they asked for it.

I'm sad that you took such time to read everything, since clearly you didnt understand a word of it, or what I'm getting at.

Oh and, LordyWhatever; Please explain (In English, not Snakestyles garble) how this has nothing to do with ADSL or Telkom?

Thanks.

The "alternative service" hosts the only games that I play online, so it's not really an issue.

You're argument:
Last time that I checked, online gaming was done.... online. And being online in SA means Telkom. Online gaming also means good latency, therefore for the best possible latency you'd have to be a SAIX customer to experience the best gaming on SGS server? Stop me if I'm wrong at any point. Now, since gaming is online, and online means Telkom and SGS means SAIX and SAIX means Telkom and gaming means Telkom - how do you figure that Telkom, an integral part of gaming (it has a huge influence, unless you'd like to dispute that) has nothing to do with gaming forums?

then you asked what I quoted on top.

Makes about as much sense as me saying "I Blame telkom for the increase in the price of peppercorns at Pick and Pay. Why? Becasue Pick and Pay have an online store and I use my ADSL to connect to it.Now since Pick and Pay is online and online means ADSL and ADSL means Telkom - how do you figure that ADSL, an integral part of being online has nothing to do with the increase in the price of peppercorns?

Doesn't make sense does it.
Does this answer your question? probably not, just illustration the sillyness of that argument.
I'm not entirly sure what you mean by "this" (in the quote I've used) so I'm presuming you mean the SGS forums and their censorship.

Go reread YOUR OWN post that you did on these boards.
Heres the link: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=26617

Just as here you have highlighted a sensitive topic in your post (the one in the link) and say it will
If it just turns into a massive uncontrolled flame war, then it can destroy a forum quite easily and new members steer clear and old members leave
, so Through Experience the SGS admins and mods have highlighted some topics that THEY KNOW (As you have claimed in your post) will cause: "If it just turns into a massive uncontrolled flame war, then it can destroy a forum quite easily and new members steer clear and old members leave "

I don't see your argument anymore. In this thread you are lambasting them for doing what you reckon is the correct thing to do and have posted about in another thread.

Which one do you truly support? - your opinion in this thread or your opinion here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=26617
Please make up your mind..

Firstly, I'm trying to have an argument, SGS are the ones trying to have a flame war.

Secondly, the day I can walk into an "SGS Store" and plug my PC into their switch, your argument might make an iota of sense.

A SAIX service (you cannot deny thay) provided to the internet, via the internet, and heavily dependant on the speed of your internet connection sold to you by SAIX appears to have quite alot to do with Telkom, its glaringly obvious.

BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A GAMING BOARD - JUST LIKE YOU EXPLAINED ABOUT A DIFFERENT TOPIC IN YOUR POST (the link of which I have already posted) AND THERE YOU HAVE SAID THAT .... oh gosh - give me strength.

I have yet to see a document that says SAIX promotes SGS as part of theirSelling strategy. As in a previous post I have said that Telkom badly advertise ADSL as a gaming "platform" and I disagree with that (Having tried to play Joint Ops overseas and been killed by lag - go find the post in this thread, I'm tired of looking things up for you (and sorry for attacking you like that - this is starting to wear me a bit thin))

Back to what I started with. SGS admins and mods have said basically what you posted (in the thread I linked to a couple of times), only difference between what you typed and what they have typed is the subject. You said "please stop posting on the Cele incident" they've said "Please stop posting about Telkom and other gaming Boards".
I don't see where your argument is if you can promote it here (the non-posting) but condem it on SGS..

MansoN, by posting those two links you further solidify one of my points that THIS forum is the best place to post any comments and queries, not SGS. Things happen here, they will never at SGS. I have repeatedly - in every topic related to Telkom that I've locked - made reference to this forum and welcomed users to come here instead.

How about we all put away differences, our conspiracy theorist caps, our disrespect of the SGS admins for whatever reason, and rather focus on the topics that matter. This thread has grown to 10 pages in 4 days, and this is testament to the passions that people have for the telecommunications industry and how it affects them. But its not solving anything. The solution lies in action, here, with mybroadband. Action with Hellkom. Action with Antitrust. I can't think of a better place to rally support, and band together than the aforementioned places.

While ADSL is a hot topic for gamers; I recognise that the growth of gaming is directly related to the growth of broadband. But because of our situation, its difficult for us to allow as much of an open ended communication as a perfect world could grant (read: Telkom have SGS by the balls and I don't particularly feel like being turned into a soprano). SGS themselves are not your enemy. We're just trying to run games, and the best way is the way we're doing currently.

I did say I wasn't going to post in this thread again, guess I lied, oh well. But thats my closing argument, and you can by all means flame me and troll along should you want to. But thats our position, we can't change.

Please give rpm and the other people who spearhead action your support, they've come a long way, and are on the right track.

Ahmen , nice and articulate without emotion, which is more than what can be said of some of the other admins that posted here.
Respect, and agreed.

ok then

Lets look at the points here.

1: Telkom’s pricing SUCKS we all know it we all hate it.

2: SGS is a part of SAIX which forms a part of Telkom

3: SGS is a service that was started by a Telkom employee who thought it would be nice to have online game servers in SA. (Elyzium)

4: if too many people complain about Telkom on SGS “the powers that be” at SAIX may close down SGS.
Why because for them it would be bad publicity.
It would be like paying someone to run a service to tell you how bad your service is.

So it comes down to what you want

Do you want SGS to close down?
Because if it closes down you won’t exactly have a SGS forum to chat on about anything

Neither will you have all the game servers to play on.

If you don’t want game servers to play on and a SGS forum then why does this bother you.

Lets face it if you post on the SGS forums you agreed to their terms.

And if they close down SGS then there isn’t a place to post on about anything anyway.

So to bitch about Telkom,
post here
The ppl on myadsl.co.za is actively attacking Telkom to improve them

If SGS attacks Telkom then the only outcome will be SGS being squished

Sorry, when you said start acting I thought you were talking about acting against Telkom.

You didn't specify but then I should have taken the thread topic into consideration.

Well, I'd like to have a healthy discussion with the SGS admins on what SGS's stance is on the 1 Nov pricing and hardcap?

PS Should we open another topic?

You probably already know SGS admins stance, and anyway - we won't give you a "As an sgs admin my official stance is X" for all the reasons Vie mentioned. Telkom has SGS by the balls.

Why do you care what the SGS admins stance is? I'm an admin and I can assure you; we're all just gamers wanting the same things you want: affordable (TRUE) broadband and some GGs :)
