Hi guys I would like to share my laptops 3G (Vodacom 3G Modem) through my network.

My laptop is connected to my router via cable.

Is it possible to share the 3G from the internet wirelessly through the router?

I've been doing some Googling unsuccessfully so far, I've tried the obvious share internet options in the Windows 7 Network and Sharing center.

Would this have to be done through the router settings?

I have tried to clone my laptops mac address in the router settings with no success.

I have the TP-Link Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router TL-WR1043ND and Windows 7 64bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can try a software called "connectify". Just google it. It will create a wifi access point from your laptop for sharing (not through your router though).
Alternatively, if you would like a hardware based solution that can plug straight into your router and share your 3G modem through your existing router, please PM me as it is one of the products that I sell.

Try setting your Default gateway address manually, to the IP of the desktop sharing the internet connection.
Set your DNS server to the same IP as well...

The Best program to use to share any internet connection on your laptop using your Wi-Fi is connectify.

The TP-LINK router I have has a USB but it's for storage, unfortunately.

I have tried to create an adhoc network from my laptop as well as software that does the thing but I'm finding this solution way to unstable to be practical.
