Talks took place tonight between Sutcliffe and Sharks Officials.

The field was outlined with the rugby field dimensions and the dressing rooms were spruced up with some Sharks jerseys.

Putting markings on the field and jerseys in some lockers doesn't mean it's happened ....... the Sharks have a fully paid for stadium, which they have stated over and over again, they will not move from but now suddenly it's a done deal at Mabhida?

I must admit that the new stadium looks very impressive. Makes the ABSA stadium look ugly...

I just wonder if being so far away form the field will affect the atmosphere. Kingspark is one of the great rugby stadiums because u feel right up against the action.

I've also heard quite a few internationals say its one the best stadiums in the world to play at.

I will be mortified if they move from Kings Park :)erm: ABSA Stadium)! There's no reason to move. Such history in the dirt. Sweat, blood and tears ... and for what ... just please the whims of SUTCLIFFE!!!

+1 ... it will become like some of the international stadiums which they describe as being an onlooker and not a spectator

this stadium has been designed for a multiple number of sports and rugby will not be centre stage :(

This is speculation, and there were talks...

My guess is the Sharks are still telling the city to ****.

Who knows what lows that moron Suttcliffe would sink to force them to move

He has tried a few already ..... and he's failed every time. The Sharks know that moving will leave a lot of their fans behind ;)

Those pics were taken last night, and it was just talks, as Toxic said the Sharks could have been telling them to stuff themselves

No they don't. Kings Park is owned by the Durban City Council, the Sharks just have a lease there.

Moses Mabhida is looking great though. I'd really like to see the stadium shared by Golden Arrows and Amazulu, but I understand that they don't really draw big enough crowds.

Well, a 90 year lease is almost the same as owning it. And I think you're wrong anyway, afaik, the Council only owns the land, not the stadium ;)

I dig Kings Park, yeah it will always be Kings park to me, but if they move they move. The history will still be alive. The fact that it is just across the road from the old site will make it more so.

Kings Park is starting to show the signs of having been put together extension by extension now. There are also a number of seats below the level above in which you cannot see the ball if it is kicked high...

I just wonder what would happen to the old stadium?Just smash it down? And then what goes there?

Interesting times in Durbs

I also hate those sponsered names! Anyway, if teh Sharks move to Moses Mabhida, I don't think that Kings Park would be knocked down, at least not straight away. If (when) Durban win the rights to the 2020 Olympics, they will need both stadiums, as well as lots of other ones.
