Well, well, well ..... I was speaking to someone who is working inside the stadium and he said there was no markings on the field at all. And he's working there from 6-6 so I'm sure Sutcliffe and cronies didn't do it all and get rid of it overnight ;) Going on that, upon closer inspection, those pictures in the first post look quite shopped.

Propaganda ftw

I also hate those sponsered names! Anyway, if teh Sharks move to Moses Mabhida, I don't think that Kings Park would be knocked down, at least not straight away. If (when) Durban win the rights to the 2020 Olympics, they will need both stadiums, as well as lots of other ones.

all next to each other in one part of the city

Ok, so you're saying that guys working on the field are, for some unknown reason nogal, saying that there were no lines drawn up when there were because some website said so? Please man

I really don't understand why poeple are against the Sharks moving to MM. I would prefer to see it given to Golden Arrows and Amazula to share, I like the idea of SA soccer actually getting something out of the World Cup. Teh way I see it, SA soccer could come a whole lot better post 2010.

Perhaps they should just play the big finals at the news stadium... its going to sell out anyway so might as well have double the capacity.
For the smaller games they can use the older stadium, either way they have to start using the venue, pointless to spend all that money and never use it !

Sharks - will never move because of the fans and they would not want to start paying rent

As for the Soccer ..... they struggle to fill up Absa even with the big games, imagine how empty the new stadium is gonna be

Now here's a real idea for once, plus 1 for you.

Moses Mabhida is next door! What the heck would fans complain about. I agree that soccer has small coweds at the moment, but 2010 could be teh force to pulls more people into SA soccer. Also, they could just used certain parts of teh stadium for smaller games.

WeePee have have already told the soccer morons to F off when they tried that with Newlands.

Facepalm! You do know that the same corperation that will run Green Point stadium owns WPRU, right?

the fans don't like that they would be away from the action ........ it's been discussed to death, read up on some of it if you don't believe me.

I think one of the main reasons fans don't wanna go - it has no atmosphere. One is removed from the action for a start and then there is no after game party either ....... you do not take that away from a Sharks fan :)

You talking about the braais that they have in the parking lot? I guess it would be a loss.

I'm not saying that I want the Sharks to go to MM, I really want Durban to rent it to Golden Arrows and Amazulu for as little as possible. I just think that MM is the better stadium.

I've heard they will slaughter some nguni cattle before the first match is played in the stadium, appease the ancestors or bless the birth of a new building something to that affect. Think that would be awesome to shock the world with.

I'm guessing they'll still be using the ABSA Stadium parking lot, I mean they're right next to eachother.
