As per normal when I reached my cap I was cutoff last month and after calling helpdesk I was VERY lucky to get Porcia since she really went out of her way to sort out my problem and with Shaun's approval gave me a "free" 1gb since the bandwidth monitor is still whacky.
Porcia said she would call me back and she DID, not like all the others that I've dealt with at WBS.
Mr. Green I hope you realise what a star you have working for you and that she gets the credit that she deserves, I just wish the other staff would take such pride in their work.

Needless to say I was charged for that "free" 1gb so I called helpdesk once again, this time I was not so lucky as I got one of the other "helpers" who said he would call back but never did.
I called helpdesk again 6hrs later and was lucky once more to get Porcia who went out of her way to sort out the problem.

I just had to write this post as we have to give credit where it is due, and Porcia really deserves promotion for the pride she takes in her work even when surrounded by other useless people.

With staff like her there is still some hope for WBS.

Yeah maybe, but don't forget Porcia as she really stuck to it until she sorted it all out for me.:)

I don't bother phoning. Every six weeks or so, I take time out of work to travel to SABC offices directly and sort it out. It always works without fail, else I just don't leave. (luckily, Green has always been there, or I just wait for him!!).

The service levels in South Africa has become so bad, that standard service has now become 'excellent' service.

Don't want to p*ss on your parade, but that was the expected standard when I worked in the UK (NO passing the buck, or unhappy customers), otherwise you got fired on the spot.

Good old SA.

Kingrob is right. Its a problem when we get so excited about someone doing their job correctly. No disrepect to people like Shaun but going out of ones way when it should be your basic duty is not excellent service.

Personally ive had a guts full of WBS lack of service

Freshy-ZN, you know nothing of Shaun. He's mostly proply one of the biggest assets WBS has at the moment. He's gone well beyond the call of duty for that company more times than I can remember. While the company he works for might offer a terrible service due to poor management, and a strip mining ideology (thanks azidrazor), Sean has often been the only person who has tried to help us. I have great respect for that man... and WBS must be paying him alot of money to put up with he has had to endure.

Thanks Shaun, ure a good oke.

I wasnt talking about Shaun per se. Was generalising. I dont know if Shaun has gone beyond the call of duty or not.

The few staff members mentioned that have gone out of their way to be helpfull DO deserve praise, since they could also have taken the same attitude as the rest of the useless workers there, but they seem to be the only few stars in that black hole called wbs.

Let's not beat around the bush and tell it like it is.

WBS is NOT a Black Hole -

Who happens to be Satan (Sasan) 's

Hmmmm...is it just sycophantry, or some iburst employees registering here and lauding their CRM skills in the hope that management pops in occasionally and will be inspired to up the christmas bonuses a bit?

You be the judge.

I will say one thing though, I've dealt with Mr. Green before and he was rude and totally unhelpful. Well, unless blatantly ignoring someone once they take you to task on empty promises is deemed helpful up in the iBust offices.

Asqus I'm surprised to hear that as I to am one of the many iburst users who swear by Shauns technical prowess and total commitment to the cause.

well sometimes they just reach a point where they have to vent some form of anger... maybe you were the target...

anyhow I've heard good things from this Shaun Green... I've also seen him in action when I was at their offices getting a replacement modem... and I must say compared to 90% of ther staff there he's definately the one working his ass off... so Congrats there Shaun keep up the good work... and PLZ launch the 2Mbps connection :D

Hello all,

It has been a while since my last post, I think it’s great seeing that the service levels are improving. I worked very closely with Shaun and let me tell you, it is an extremely stressful job, very long hours but in the end it’s worth it, when you help people and those people are appreciative. My compliments go out to Shaun for doing an absolute excellent job. You honestly cannot expect more from 1 single person. I do however agree that one problem with most South African business's is the fact that we have still not got "Service" right. I am one person who strongly believes that Service in priority 1 in any business’s success. There is alot of exciting stuff coming up with myself in the new year. I will keep you all posted.

Regards and best wish's over the festive season,
Dylan Winik
