Trade is only an economic growth factor in a western paradigm anyway, maybe if we kill our cattle (again) this time we'll rid ourselves of the ebil capitalistic white man & the progress he represents..

Most Government IT systems are out dated and haven't been refreshed in years. Incompetence and poor budgeting have stifled their upkeep, this is just the first of many departments that will be targeted, ripe for the pickings.

Bypass SA ports and go where exactly if the goods are destined for SA?
If it becomes easier to unload at Maputo and then drive the goods into SA, part of SADC means it should work, if Transnet don't sort themselves out soon, they may as well just be laid to rest. Supply chains can be refitted, the incentives are there if Transnet doesn't wake up and fast.

Sabotage by? Zuma and faction? Can we hang the bastard already? Just how many shadows, mirrors, daggers and forces do we have in this story?

yippi yaddi yey, another ANC success story.

Cape Town harbour may have been a good alternative, but the ANC politickery have caused it to be what it is today. The sooner they can secede, the better.

A large number of callers are for bunker fuel only. ships are load-limited by weight so a ship travelling west from say china to say brazil can carry more cargo if it carries less fuel and refuels halfway. SA has been a fav for this tactic as we are halfway-ish between lots of places. These ships could equally refuel in daar es salaam or mombasa or maputo
