Good news everyone - I managed to get a copy and read the story. I feel like these people are decent and trying their best. Heroes of the Viral Age. OK, let me set the scene. The pirate and his family are religious and since the video went viral, they have been recognised in public places, including their church. His wife says: "Nou het selfs die pastoor met ons gespot. Die mense het net begin vaak raak toe sê hy: Hugo, bel die polisie... Mi lidmate sukkel om wakker te bly".

They were in church when the pastor was obviously boring everyone to tears. Anyone who has ever set foot inside church knows that this is a real danger. In an effort to wake up the congregation and perhaps get a cheap laugh, he uttered this now-famous line.
