Hi,
I'm in the market for a PC monitor for gaming. My budget is around R1300 so there is a pretty small pool of options. I happened to see an AIM TV in Pick 'n Pay for R999 but I haven't been able to find out any information about it besides what was on the box. I have no idea about the refresh rate or the input lag. I'll attach the pictures I took of what was on the box. Is it a good buy?

Noo

try get a dell secondhand.

Best dells are u
Then p is very good

Followed by s and e

The u has tons of inputs. You can run dvi to pc and hdmi to dstv, and have a few more ports. And the quality is the rolls royce of monitors. Even apple who stopped making monitors advise getting ultrasharp dells. Nothing else compares.

Any idea where I could get one? I've been looking for weeks with no luck.

Not sure how good the picture quality of the AIM will be but I don't have much confidence that it'll be good.
PnP have a good refund policy so if its a terrible buy just return it and say its unsuitable or you changed your mind. Just do it within a couple of days.

I'm very doubtful it will be a good buy. AIM is hardly a reliable brand and the screen's resolution is crap. Rather browse Carbonite for a good secondhand deal.

I have a pretty pricey 46" Samsung LED TV that I use as a monitor, and without the huge assortment of adjustment options it has it would have been unusable as a monitor. The default picture was godawful. But some careful tinkering got it looking perfect. What are the chances that AIM has a terrific default picture or the advanced settings needed to make it look great?

Originally I only hooked up my TV so I could use it as a secondary display, but the picture quality was so incredible that my regular 27" Samsung was unusable underneath it. So I ditched the 27" and lowered the 46" to a natural height. Been loving it every day.

Where are you based? I cant see any on gumtree cape town. The cheapest decent dell new is the p2417h for about 2050excl from pinnacle micro. Its 23.8", is 1920x1080, vga displayport and hdmi, fully height adjustable and swivels 90 degrees.

Option b is dell p2317h for 1850excl at pinnacle or

P2217 from dcc for 1665excl
