Hey

Hope some one can help me?
I came across a net advert telling me how important cleaning my Pc's registry is.

Can someone please clarify if I must?

I'm afraid the software may be spyware of some sort?

Any suggestions for a well known free online registry cleaner software online?

Many thanks!

I dunno about these things.

I've had bad experiences in the past, because they usually generate quite a large list of registry entries to "clean" one tends not to check each one, and clicks yes to all. This has caused me instability and rendered some software unusable (particularly MS Office) that I happen to use.

Maybe I just had a bad experience and should have known better, but if you aren't having a particular problem I would say no...

have been using Abexo Free and never had problems once, good thing about it is you can save all they key's before they get deleted so if something goes wrong just roll on back :)

If there is nothing wrong with your PC then dont worry about your registry.

When you do the format thing every year or 6 motnhs or whenever, that will certaintly clean it up.

Its really not necessary - been their done that.

If you must, up CCleaner, which also has a tool to remove unneeded files. But not at all necessary.

Nope, I used CCleaner's registry cleaner and it f'up the PC I was working on Afterwards I couldn't get into the C: drive. I had to use the utility 'RRT' to get back into the C drive. Even the backup file of the registry that CCleaner made didn't rectify the problem.

I've never had problems, besides there is not much point in cleaning the registry anyway(you wont get a speed boost or notice any difference) the only things you should remove(if you want to remove anything) are programs that have not removed themselves from the registry after uninstallation.

what is the point of using this program?

how does it actually help your pc?

is the risk of stuffing your pc worth the few files it deletes which mean nothing?
