Hi everyone please advise me.

When I lived in durban I used telkom and various isp's for broadband. I've now moved to capetown and I haven't transfered my line as yet. I was contemplating using neotel and I would like to know if it's a better move.

I've spoke to neotel and so far I know the following :
1mb uncapped is constant up and download speed of +/-330kb/s for R500/m
I have to sign a 24 month contract.
I have to pay separately for a voice line.

I game and do downloads from PSN and generally I'm a mid to heavy Downloader clocking in at an average of 300gb a month.

Please assist me on what I should do.

Am in Pretoria and these are my Neotel Connection speedtest results .

My connection struggles to run a full length HD movie. Staggers alot. Not sure about gaming though, haven't tried it yet; my Xbox is still tethered to my trusty Telkom Modem..

Those are half decent speeds. Ping is a bit high, but for streaming youtube you need a consistent throughput, which CDMA (sometime) struggles with. The better your signal strength, the better streaming will be. Look at the last line RSSI signal strenth, the lower the better, aroung -65 is a relative good signal.

Hi,

Not sure what type of connections the other users here are running, but Wimax and LTE are the best options so far. I wouldn't go for any other data product from neotel (unless is fibre/microwave).

I'm sure for R500 a month you are going to get a very crappy product.

The cheapest wimax is going for R1300 excl. and LTE you can get from R990.

Good day
I am also thinking of moving from Telkom 4meg (Afrihost Uncapped) to a Neobroadband 4meg wireless. Thanks to you guys for all the info above but I have one or two more questions:
1. How is Neobroadband 4meg for online gaming (Speed and Latency)?
2. Is this product good for Youtube video streaming?

I'm a bit nervous as I will have to cancel my Telkom line and Afrihost to sign a 2 year contract on a system that I've had no experience on.
Just thinking of how long it will be to get Telkom reinstated gives me a headache. Ha Ha Just thinking of talking to Telkom gives me a headache.;-)

Your urgent feedback will be highly appreciated.
