I recently bought an LG G3 which I think is a pretty good phone.

However, I find the battery life is not as good as my previous phone (Galaxy Note 3).

I greenify installed and I'm on marshmallow so I have the benefit of doze.

I am wondering if I should just trade it for another phone?
Anyone have any suggestions?

i really enjoy my G3, it is a brilliant phone, but yeah the battery is crappy, i would get just under a day (which isnt a problem to me but the other battery related issues are really frustrating).
Im on my third battery, and now i am getting the bootloop issue (something to do with the battery) so i will need to get battery number 4 :(

Had my G3 for 3 weeks now, latest bug seems to be the phone rebooting on its own, yesterday it rebooted 3x, I think I have nailed it down to the FM app.

Have not started FM today and so far so good.

There's also the annoying issue with the sound when playing music through headphones where there's a hissing in left ear.

Fix is to unplug headphones, make a call, replug headphones and it works, hissing gone.

I'd hoped they had fixed this in MM.

Why buy this? We're on G5 already.

Budget, needed a phone for music actually that could support large sd card, big screen and device received decent audio output reviews.
Was receiving Marshmallow, seems like good choice for what I paid under 4k, 2014 flagship.

Mine is also 2 years old. But I bought it second hand becuase the note 3 got damaged. So I was wondering if I should trade it for one of the Xiaomis or Huaweis. Or something like that. I can't afford a g4 or g5 so that's out

I would do that, as im tired of these battery issues popping up, but when it works its an awesome phone.

Woah mine lasts about the same. And its pretty annoying. Im actually considering buying another battery or one of those huge batteries, but cant find them around here

So as I mentioned before - I installed CM 13 on my G3 now. The battery life is definitely much better than before.

The phone has been on now without a charge since yesterday morning and its on 30% now.
If i go to battery settings now - it says approx 12 hours left.

The big difference now is that the phone is hardly using battery while in standby,
this was not the case when I used the stock LG rom.
In the morning I would wake up and the battery would be down by 10 - 15 percent, yet the phone was idle the whole night which is strange because I have marshmallow running so doze should of helped a lot.

As a side note - when I was rooting the device before I installed CM 13, I used kingroot and it said that there were a bunch of apps that autostart and it can disable all those apps and save me up to 30% battery life. This might be why the battery drains so fast.
Might be worth the look if you don't want to install a custom rom.
