If your current exhaust is in perfect condition, pls explain to me why you want to change it.....

If it had better days then yes I would say go for it, I honestly don't understand some people :D

Me neither

It's always great to hear a big engine doing its thing, but when you have a fancy exhaust on a Polo? Anyone who hears it is intrigued at first... then it drives by and they cannot help but pack out laughing.

Just from my experience anyway, that's all :)

I just did mine, my 2l sounds like a V8 low end, and a Ferrari on high end... go for it ;)

The 15hp also helps a bit.

Upgrading exhaust is a good idea, gases leaves the engine quicker, making room for more performance!
If you want even better sound, install a branch with the freeflow exhaust ;-)

Sounds like any standard 4-cyl engine with a 'freeflow' to me, whether it be a Uno FIRE or 318i BMW. The turbo on the Polo also muffles the note a bit.
If you really need to change something to your exhaust, rather fit a single oval tailpiece.

I wouldn't mind for the small performance boost.

I want the car to look and sound standard though ; so I can't go for an exhaust :/

For a less invasive sounding performance gain, try replace the intake.

BTW - some exhausts provide a gain without increasing the volume much.

is there really a performance boost??? i think it's just in the mind. you want to hear the sound more so you at high revs and it makes more noise, and the sound is music to the ears...

Most exhausts offer a performance increase, proven on dyno's - my S2000 is going in next week for a tune - I'll post the gains from before and after, changes are exhaust and intake.

I admit I dont like the sound that much... too rough.
The standard exhaust sounds nice enough, like a baby scoobie.

Was just in two minds about it. Theres is a performance gain, with a downpipe and decat and the exhaust.

As for the intake, not going fancy, just getting the intake from the Seat Cupra, fits in perfect and is much thicker and theres a gain with the K&N filter.

full exhaust, chip, decat and then you are seriously flying. A guy did that to his 1.8t audi a3 and he was running e46 m3's. If i am not mistaken the motor in that audi and your car is the same? And it wont cost you the world to do. Go for it!. . . But dont do it if you worried about voiding warranty

Keep your car original and realise that it's a POLO!!!! ...not a Maserati.

Honestly: you guys have no idea how much everyone laughs at you when you do crap like that... actually, on second thought - do it and brighten up someones day :D

I dont understand... its not a Tazz with a cone filter we talking about...
The stuff Adam mentioned are decent mods with serious power gains, like he said they run M3s.
With those mods against a M3 I think ill be laughing:rolleyes:

Any just by the way most sports cars today use exhaust acoustics, like Ferraris and even M3s...
Have a listen to the R32... it uses acoustics to sound like that.

Dude you could blaze an M3 in a Tazz with the right mods... once.
Directly therafter you have scrap metal where seconds ago you had a car (kind of.)

Just keep your car original, if you want a race car then get one - a Polo is not that which is why it looks so ridiculous when people try to mod them as such.
