ShowMax Premium prices for SA revealed

LOL
This thread is hillarious

Full of people who, in other threads say they got Netflix and will never look at MonoChoice again. Yet the price becomes sweet and now they all wanna go for it...

It doesn't matter if they give me DSTV premium HD for free, I don't want it, and won't accept it. Its the principle of the matter, as well as being tired of them deciding what I can and cannot watch.

The ONLY reason I might entertain this is for The Big Bang Theory (Not on Netflix). But why pay R 99 for it if I can just download all the episodes? I use Netflix for 2 reasons: 1. Kids have a crap load of things they can watch. 2. I never know what I want to watch and go through Netflix and find a series or Documentary I have never seen before and watch it.

Wife just LOVES Netflix

•Arrow
•Big Bang Theory
•Castle
•Elementary
•Ray Donovan
•Vikings

Get ready!!!......for Season 1 of each of these series.

Scrolled through the cached pages of content. Couldn't stop sneezing from all the dust........nohting better than Vidi. Of course the obligatory Friends are there as well as really ancient movies and series.

Hehehe...what's the point?

Dude it's R99 a month.

That's 3 BigMacs. It's great for the price.

No it is NOT. So I must pay R99 per month for something that has no use to me whatsoever, just because it is cheap?

That is ridiculous.

It only has no use to you because you pirate.

Will really depend on how up-to-date their content is, but for now I'm more than happy with Netflix and Hulu+.

Also, the lack of media player support makes this fairly useless for me.

I'm guessing only older seasons will be available as part of R99 deal... newer stuff will be locked behind another paywall... the newer stuff will also only be made available here a few months after it has been broadcast on dstv

O ok. Is Netflix in South Africa legal? And I honestly do not know. Googled it but cannot find a definite answer?

Never mind...I see it isn't. So you watch Netflix illegally here in South Africa, but cannot wait to play the piracy card when other people prefer to download a series or movie?

Pffft.....

It definitely isn't yet, no. If you try to access the website without some unblocking VPN service or DNS sercice like Unotelly it'll tell you that Netflix isn't available.

I'm guessing this will change soon, all the 'favours' will now be called in to make it so

So the catch most likely is that it's years old content and nothing brand spanking new. Probably also not signs of guaranteed HD content, for that you'll probably have to pay R700/m :p

What they'll have over Netflix will probably be local content.

I don't care whatsoever about local content, I don't care about sports either. I also refuse to pay Naspers a cent if I have the choice. So I'll just wait for Netflix to show up :)
