Showmax Pro with live sport expected to launch on Wednesday in South Africa

"The international version includes all Premier League, Serie A, La Liga"

Actually for football Fans this is perfect however I want every single live Premier league matched to be Aired though.

Agreed, will depend on what they include and what is excluded.

The international version of Showmax Pro is priced at $17.99 per month, which roughly translates to R299 per month.

Yeah, no. Can see this overpriced lard is owned by mono choice.
No brains and greedy as hell. I will stick to my "free" channels where I can't get them at a reasonable price.

The major benefit of this service is that one can theoretically sign up for specific events e.g. a World Cup and then jog right off after it is finished by cancelling. This does not require investment into a decoder and dish either. I can see my social circle using it like that.

Well, Showmax is a monthly subscription, so if an event comes up that you fancy, should not be an issue. Subscribe for the month or two, or three that it runs, and then cancel.

"The live sports selection doesn’t include other popular international sports such as rugby, cricket, tennis, golf, or motorsport."

Only included in Showmax Pro Pro at R499.

was about to say that name is dumb when it excludes everything people are interested in other that soccer. I'd have guessed u chose primary sport and pay for additional sport or add on a season/tourny as a model is better

Exacto. And they key with the sport is that I don't need to buy and install a dish+decoder. That is the game changer for the market. It makes it accessible to a far wider audience.

But make no mistake I'm not praising these fools. If they weren't idiots they would have launched this years ago.

It seems they are launching Showmax Pro before a stand alone Dstv Now

Does DSTV Now have a future, or they going to drop it like a hot potato and everyone who wants to watch the Supersport variety of sports, streaming, has to subscribe to Showmax Pro?

Exactly. Instead of doing standalone DSTVNow, they're opting for this.
