i phone customer service i get sent to LTE.
LTE sends me to Customer Service.
etc etc etc
then i get told to dial 10210 who then send me to guess where?? LTE or Customer Service?

seriously!
i am trying to give you more money!?
how is this so difficult?

i have also tried the call back feature online. so far no call backs.
online support is also clueless

Huh? What does either of them have to do with each other?

Does Showmax supply your LTE? No, so go to your LTE provider.

Does whoever supplies your LTE supply your Showmax? No, so go to Showmax for that.

****

ShowMax is great on Twitter.

R99 for showmax.
then an additional R99 to Telkom - this makes sure they do not charge you data if you are using the Showmax service

So then what more "setup" is required?

Surely once it's setup on your LTE it's zero-rated and the rest just works as normal? Put your login details into the device in question and boom.

i need telkom to enable the service so that i don't destroy my cap while using Showmax.
to do so seems to be impossible

sorry for the confusion.
was so busy ranting that i didn't fully explain.

i have a 10G + 10G(night surfer) package on LTE.
i would like to add to this the R99 offer that allows me to watch showmax without nailing my cap (not actual showmax, this is an additional service that effectively means you can watch all the showmax you want.)
(in addition to this i would also need to sign up to showmax)

so if you get showmax, and pay telkom R99, I can watch showmax. plus off course the telkom internet.

I had to jump through hoops to have it activated. Nobody at Telkom knew about the VAS entertainment bolt on. Eventually showmax contacted their contact at Telkom who phoned me and added it to my account on the phone. However I find it a waste of time as you receive 10gb and after you have used it, it uses your normal Data and then throttles you at 128kbs . It also only works on showmax, despite advertising it as working on dstv on demand, Netflix and iTunes . 10 gb is about 2,5 HD movies. I suppose you can't get 10gb for R99 so I guess it's ok, but not when you were expecting to be able to stream as much showmax, Netflix etc as you wanted.

Yeah unfortunately. 10gb internet bundle is R499, so R99 for 10gbs is ok but still useless for its purpose.

From the T's and C's for Showmax add on.
no mention of what fair usage is. you have to go digging to find that.

"Product specific Fair Usage Policies (FUP) apply to all data services. The onus is on the
subscriber / customer to consult and understand these."

it does mention it in the magazine they have but that also says it includes Netflix and dstv on demand etc. I only saw after trying to get it. The guy who phoned and activated also told me 10GB but I had made such a noise trying to get it that I took it anyway. On the Telkom app it is also split into 2. Says TI Entertainment remaining 10240 mb , then TI Entertainmet 128kbs remaining 9536743 MB. I doubt you could use it at 128kbs though. I would post a screenshot but I don't seem to be able to post attachments
