Shutting down Altech Autopage has been tough – MD

Cool story bro.
Of course its tough... your wife is probably hakking you because now she cannot go on her shopping trip to New York and you cannot get the Lambo for Christmas.
 
Exactly what service were Autopage providing? As far as I can see they were nothing but a bunch of sleezy middlemen creaming the milk off the top of whatever deals they managed to conclude between the consumer and the network. They provided nothing of value that a consumer couldn't have gotten by just dealing with the network directly, which is exactly why their business model eventually failed.

Here, the franchise we dealt with was worse than a government department. They NEVER answered their phones and when I went in, you had to sit on chairs and just wait for one of 2 people to call you. Moved our 10 business lines away in 2013 and never looked back.
 
But, but.... what about my Mtn uncapped? The contract went past it's 24 month period, I just never renewed it. Will it still be the same if mtn buys it over? I mean I use the bloody thing when I go camping FFS. ARGH. :(

I ran both my businesses off of it today when Telkom went kaput yesterday "upgrading" the Telkom infrastructure.
 
Good. Won't miss a conman company with sleazy practices of telling you you've won a free phone and just have to provide your banking details to pay for using it.

What will be hard is to find a company that delivers excellent service from A to Z. I have only found one company in China for instance that does one day processing and ships in 3 days, prices are good and quality is better, but what makes this company imperfect is the fact that their catalog is not as vast as the others and shipping rarely comes under $28. So in all essence not perfect, close, but not.
 
See the tear in my eye :rolleyes: - I can still remember the disgusting way they treated me when I had a query on my account.

You missing the point! Autopage did a good job of giving people bad service!

Mtn uncapped for R270pm with a mifi modem. That was not a bad deal at all, they offered it cheaper than mtn back then. Regarding phones, yeah on upgraes they gave you crap compared to new contracts. They were also skelm to me when they said I can't downgrade my contract to payg back in the day and forced me to upgrade.
