Sigh. Looks like Reeds in Cape Town scratched the bonnet of my wife's car.

Sigh, it's basically a series of chips out of the paint about 3cm long in a 'u' shape that I noticed when picking the car up from a service.

My wife is pretty OCD about chips in her car and I didn't notice them when I dropped the car off (The bonnet is otherwise completely pristine.) we are 99% certain they weren't there this morning.

Tomorrow I want to drop the car off again and they say they will get it patched up for me.

I know accidents happen but it is frustrating when this happens, especially since I've had so many minor issues with the car and the poor service GM dealerships have given me.

Worst buying experience of my life at this dealer, about 3 hours after I signed the papers and took deliver the morons call to tell me they forgot to charge me vat and had to collect the car if I did not pay it. I told them to f___ off in no uncertain terms.

I had the car about two years and they never ever gave me the details of the top up insurance etc.. despit many requests. The will lie to you and you know how you know that? Their lips will move.

White Corsa Classic. Photos will be a bit of an issue considering it is frikking freezing outside.

It's not a huge scratch but is noticable and down to the metal.

Give Barloworld GM a try, they are the better lot here in Gauteng IMHO, when it comes to GM approved garages. Williams Hunt GM has only given me terrible service.

EDIT: They better fix it properly, make sure they do, the scratch down to the metal is going to start rusting, especially down by the coast!

Unfortunately I'm in Cape Town and I've tried botg the GM dealerships in my area and they have both left a lot to be desired.

As I've mentioned I grew up a huge Opel fan but with my experiences lately I won't be buying another vehicle from GM. I'll give Hyundai or Toyota a try or something.

I went through to check the job they did and they just, rather inexpertly dabbed some touchup paint on the scratch. When I mentioned I wasn't happy about it the workshop manager made a point of implying that it didn't happen in the workshop.

Anyway, let's hope they at least make an effort the second time around.

I'm not sure how long I can keep up the polite discourse with these people.

Doesn't that GM also have one of those diagrams on which they mark any dents, scratches, etc. on your car before they take the car?

Here in Gauteng it is standard procedure at GM...

Just make a lot of noise, call GMSA and complain, give them the lowest rating possible for the service, etc.

My car was scratched and they promised to fix it but never called me again as they promised, when the rep phoned me to ask how my service went I told her that it was terrible, give them the worst possible rating, I'll never service my car there again, etc. 1 hour later I got a call from some or other manager and my car was fixed same day.
