Single and happy, do these 2 words ever go together? Are you the type of person who is happiest being on your own, or do you prefer to be in a relationship to feel secure?

I am trying to find out if there is a secret to being happy whilst single. When I am single I am almost on a warpath of destruction. I can't stay at home, I don't want to be alone. Its terrible. Is there a secret I don't know about?

Well yea my fiancee and g/f of around 6 and half years moved out last week and to be honest i am pretty happy :)

I like being on my own doing my own thing though and she on the other hands always needed to be doing stuff with me and going out all the time.

I can keep myself entertained and i actually prefer being on my own and enjoy the hermit life of which i have been unable to live for the last 7 years and she just never got that.

I suppose I can be single and happy but would need regular sex to keep me sane. There's no ways I'd be able to go three months without sex.

Brotherman, wait until the (sexual) hunger pangs start hitting you, you'll be sending text messages in the middle of the night to your ex gf saying how much you miss her....and that would probably confuse the hell out of the poor woman.:D

Sorry about the breakup Killa.

Some people just enjoy not being attached to the old ball and chain

Yea no worries bluno it is better for us and i told her so, in the long run she will see it was the right choice which she cannot at the moment but there is someone out there for her and it ain't me.

You need to able to enjoy your own company to be happy and alone :), if you get bored easily you will struggle to be alone. also being in a relationship because you do not want to be alone is also not that great.

Me.

I enjoy my online gaming that keeps me awake to all hours of the night, and I then sleep late on a weekend. I don't have to take anyone shopping or visit people I don't want to etc.

I also go out at night to my favourite pub/whatnot and I don't have a curfew like most of my mates with gf's do. I get hugs and kisses from female friends all round without anyone being angry at me for it.

Sure it's not an exciting life in terms of sharing experiences with a significant other, but it's much simpler...I also prefer my privacy and in my last relationship I noticed that when you're in one you can't always be yourself...whatever you do/say affects more than just you. You need to take your companion into consideration - something I was not very good at.

Would I want to date someone rather than being single? Sure, but I'm not actively pursuing it. I'm far too lazy to chase tail and look like an idiot, when I could just chill with mates, suffer the same fate as unsuccessful tail chasing - except I get to enjoy myself.

And you've got heaps of porn on your hard drive:D I dunno your age but damn, that life sounds a bit too much...I used to play my PS2 until late into the night and after two months realised that MGS could never replace the company of a woman.

Im often quite happy on my own, was for many many years. But now i find im happier with somebody. Was in a hard relationship last year, which brought my happiness levels way down, broke up with her, then was happy again being single. Have met the most awesome girl ever, and now im even happier... Happiness with somebody will always outweigh happiness being single..

Most of my friends are either married or about to get married, and they look at me like the outcast as I am not married nor see it happening for a very long time ... old age crept up fast!

I'm single and unhappy. I enjoy being on my own but I hate knowing that I am on my own.
