I value all the opinions here and trust them more than most review sites. what do you guys think about these 2? I love the Sinotec 5 year guarantee ...
I also been doing alot of LCD vs Plasma research and too many sites are favouring Plasmas. The tv will be mainly used for Xbox and my room is kinda small.will 42' be too big for a small room? I dont think il be using it for Dstv anytime soon but im sure my parents will force me into moving it into the lounge.i know both products arent the Samsungs or Sony's but i think im gonna go for either of the 2 above? any help appreciated :D

well how much do you have to blow?

i'd say a 32" Samsung Plasma would go down nicely..but lets hear your budget first.

ok thats what my colleague says but i just wanna know what you guys think? Is the 32' a decent Tv or is it better to just chuck the extra 2.3k and get the 42'. 3 year guarantee is also very comforting :p

A friend of mine bought a Logik.Took the set back twice before requesting a refund.I dont mean to put you off the Logik sets as any TV can give you problems.Furthermore I am biased but swear by Plasma against LCD.Buy the Logik Plasma and if it dosnt work take it back.Good price for a Plasma.

Why not the 42" plasma for R6799 then?

good price! what brand?

edit: oh - logik.

i'd say go look at it - seems like an awesome price. if it looks good, why NOT?!

other choices
32" LCD (LG) (FullHD) - R7000
32" LCD (sony) (HD Ready) - R7000
32" samsung LCD (HD Ready) - R6500
42" Sinotec LCD (FullHD) - R8000

R7000 ! you can get an LG Full HD 32' if your looking at getting a "brand"

but if your not using it as a computer screen.. you wont really need the full HD and if your using it for gaming a bit, go LCD.

but anyway to answer your question.32' is quite big if your room isn't that big, and if you going for a no name, rather the sinotech. Even though you can get the bigger logik, its not worth it.

yeah lol im a stingy b@#tard. if you told me that for R7000 i could get the Full Hd LG and then you say the Logik is 10 whole more inches id still probably go for the Logik.but i will go and have a look this wkend....my room is small but all my friends are saying i should just get the 42' for even when i move out from my parents house soon.if i dont like the look of the Logik and nothing else appeals to me il just be happy with the Sinotech .thanks guys :)

Don't you need 1920 x 1080 resolution for Xbox? The 42" Full HD Sinotec LCD for R8k makes so much sense!!! Seriously!!! You paying effectively R190 per inch, pound for pound, rand for rand you cannot beat that for value and piece of mind that your investment will cost you nothing in maintenance for the next 5 years, that's until August 2014!!!! I'm sorry but for me it's a no brainer. Yes you showing discipline in having a budget and not wanting to exceed said budget but if ever going over budget is justified it seems to be in this case...

lol sandmanm34 - i seriously can afford the 5k but i just think its hectic spending it for a Tv.you see my original budget was R6000 - then i see 42' for R6700 so i pushed it up to R7000. now you say that Sinotec 42' for 8k? lol let me just somme buy the LED for R30000 straight up :D i think i better visit the Sinotech thread and check all the comments

no, did i break a law?
You broke no laws but why bother offering advice if it's so beyond the parameters set by the individual asking for it?

The guy wants to buy a golf and you talking about ferraris...:)

I understand fully and it's commendable that you trying to stay within budget but look at it this way...

You go to PnP and buy a 375ml cooking oil and you going to pay R11.25, you get the same oil but 500ml you pay a little more, maybe R14-30, you get the 1 litre and it costs R26-50. The more or bigger the amount purchased, proportionately the less you pay therefore in the long run it makes better sense to pay more but in effect pay less per ml...

I don't think he would save in the long run by purchasing a more expensive TV. Buying gadgets\electronics is like buying cars. It is one big loss right from the start, so you buy only what you can live with, without being depressed about it. Besides, the Sinotec has 5 years warranty, so it should cost you less in the long run. I seriously believe Sinotec is just trying to settle the brand in SA, just like Samsung did at some stage. They will eventually also become expensive like the others. I have a 42inch Sinotech for 2 years now. It still has the best picture that I have seen.

I see Makro has a special for R3999 for a 32inch. What a bargain!

I picked up a Sinotech 32" for one of the rooms at the opening of one of the Game stores this weekend. They were selling for R2999, which was a bargain considering that it's not half bad :)

Spend R3999 on the Sinotec 32 lcd (5 year), and if you don't have a nice sound system spend the rest on that.
Sound is just as important as visual experience.
Listening to normal TV speakers sucks in my opinion.
