Sipho Maseko's legacy as Telkom CEO

No mention of his failure to get naked ADSL going and when it finally arrived it was 15 years too late?
And then allowing the likes of Vuma, to come in with affordable Fibre, in areas that they dominated with adsl.. they had an entire adsl base they could have had.

He eyed an over competed mobile space and left a lucrative fibre expansion slip by in the process.

Summed up in one important sentence instead of the blabberring about nothing really.

As it stands now his successor will have an uphill battle to regain such an advantage,in fact the opportunity is probably already gone at this point and they'll have to find the next best thing or slog it out with the other fibre operators.

Sipho "cloned nambaplates" Maseko didn't run a company for the most part he ran a taxpayer funded monopoly.

“When Eskom says they sell stuff it is a crock of nonsense. They are the only guys. They don’t compete with anyone. They don’t have to innovate. They don’t have to compete on price,” he said.
Maseko said Telkom was exactly the same. “We did not have to sell stuff. We took orders. You called us for an order, and we fulfilled that order.”
“We probably slapped you around a little bit and still gave you the order,” he said.
At least he's more honest than the rest..
