The EFF will keep it fresh, today on KayaFM (I think), they even Tweeted it,

and, well...

Malema is no different than any of the holier than thou mybb people who have suddenly discovered non-racialism but have been spotted mentioning 'black' locust previously etc. Those posts get actively reported and removed so good for mods.

Of course, Malema needs to be held more accountable than myBB racists. That goes out without saying.

That magazine doesn't look anything like it will hold a 9mm bullet.
Yes, hence me also saying it is most likely an airsoft replica.

Apart from that, it looks like an MP5.

As far as I know, only SAPS STF at times use MP5s in South Africa, but I could be wrong.

Some airsoft replicas are very close to the real thing in look, feel and weight.

I have a Glock 19 (real thing) as well as an airsoft replica, it is very difficult to see the difference unless you know what to look for, or see the barrel opening from the front (not something I recommend doing).

One example of the real MP5...

And airsoft replica examples, locally available...

According to Wikipedia, the MP5 has a firing/safety selector that is either on the left side only, or both sides. Semi-auto should have it on both sides. Example (on a auto/semi-auto/safe selector):

Our “friend” is showing off the left side of his gun, yet it has no selector lever visible.

The guy is almost certainly clowning around with a toy gun.

clearly a clone of the MP5SD, but the integrated "suppressor" is too long, the stock is fixed and not telescopic and the magazine doesn't look like the real deal either

it could be something like this .22 clone:
