Sjoe...these are becoming like those DSTV/Netflix articles from 2019/2020...one almost every other week!
We know, and I personally am busy with a 2-year plan for my family!

The question to ask is how many of those that left/leave, will return? Some people forget that SA cost of living is dirt cheap compared to first world countries, then end up coming back retiring here with their pot of gold.

It's not that cheap anymore. Private security, private medical, higher insurance, high tax, low savings incentives and now they're talking about another xx% for mandatory state pension contribution, more for NHI, SST, wealth taxes for UBIG etc.

So Ramaphosa is only now trying to do something about skilled people leaving and the high unemployment rate?

Seems like wind in the air because an election is coming up.
Amazing how these politicians want to seem like they are trying to improve our lives, just before an election.

In my experience (tracking fellow graduates from university ~25 years ago), very few come back. For most skilled workers, the compensation differential more than offsets the cost of living.

Not necessarily, if you cant find the skill locally you will look for it elsewhere and that job is probably lost for good to south africa making the statistics worse.
....and it won't get better.
Tertiary institutions are being filled purely for the numbers (*cough* 30% *cough*).
Would like to know the dropout rate for first years.

There is nothing he can do. He should not get involved in these type of discussions or give any comments on it. People are leaving the country. He cannot stop the braindrain from happening. Best he can do is to work on strengthening the military and police. One never know when you will need them.

The ones that go to countries where they can't get citizenship or where it's almost impossible to without being super-rich will come back. This includes a large part of Asia and the ME.

You think the masses are going to revolt? they have been very cheeky lately, totally out of character.

Yes, I think, eventually, when the braindrain is done and the private sector is struggling to keep the economy afloat, the masses will revolt. If I was Cyril, I would not care anything about the economy. There is nothing they can do about the demise anymore. Best now is to focus on how you will deal with uprisings and revolts.

Today I rode my bicycle around the river in Amsterdam, such a pleasure riding a bike with no fear of being killed.

The problem in the world today, since the dawn of 1992, is completely new, its an obscure corruption abstract running on narratives embedded into systems. Apart from feeling it in your pockets, you have to start thinking differently to begin to understand what is happenning worldwide. Evidence is skillfully abstractly hidden, however you cannot possibly hide Symptoms, its there for all to see.
Symptoms:
-Rising costs, but not the old blame called Inflation(Irrelevant now).
-Job losses at scale.
-Willy Nilly changes for the sake of money channelling, a terrible waste of resources in the process.
-Extreme taxes, Levies, Admin costs, Willy Nilly costs, just a new name and wallah, subtract.
-This corruption feed on itself, gets a life of its own, and degrade monetary systems exponentionally over time.
-THe world is hopelessly overmanaged, multiple sections created and filled with leaderships earning big salaries. Now naturally they have to do something, so Red Tape is born in drones to the extend we are flooded with Red Tape...So much so the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing and the head has no clue.
-This is an extremely parasitic situation deveioping for 30 years thats not sustainable in a closed global system, like Earth and its resources.
-It bancrupt individuals, small bussinesses, local authorities and even some countries.

Money and Resources go hand in hand, and Resources controls money, not the other way around.
-If there were endless resources, meaning you can pluck resources from a cloud or tree or a tap, you can print as much money as you want, IF, everybody wants to work, we still have to eat.

Children should learn at school how to work with money & resources and to recognise all forms of corruption with a 90% pass rate before leaving school.
