Hi drowssap, thanks for the interest!

I'll try to answer your questions:

Does it really benefit you?
It's more a question of what benefits you expect, really. Some of our hotspot providers do it for the money and are rapidly installing multiple hotspots in various locations. Others just want to have the service for their guesthouse as a value-add.

what do you think of the idea¿

Well, it's my own idea so I won't give an opinion on it, besides for saying I thought it good enough to start working on it while still at varsity.

Who gets taken to jail for crossing the public road?

Extreme Jaywalkers! :)

What does a set up like this cost?

We have 7 hotspots up, never used skyrove but can vouch for other setups that I am sure will be cheaper.

Skyrove setup costs

Hey Gromitt,

The only setup cost is that of the Linksys WRT54GL router. Add to that your time, as you will need to flash the router and change 1 or 2 basic settings on it.

(If you're experienced, it should take you no more than 5 minutes)

Instead of the Linksys, you can use any router that can run Chillispot (Open Source captive portal), including a Linux-based PC.

as far as i know R600 for the linksys router and 30% of what your charge your client for connectivity ...

Thanks for the info, it look like a viable option.

We currently have 6 hotspots installed on Routerboards, they are working great not to mention the other tools and options these boards can offer. Anyone used the hotspot feature on these boards?
