Sounds like they got paid off (or threatened) to change their story...
Or it could be just criminals lying, they do that all the time. Even if Mkhize is indeed involved, do you really believe he would be this actively involved in planning the murder?

They are probably lying anyway, better to just prosecute them. It is too bad only the trigger pullers got caught while the tender loving bosses remain in the shadows.

He was a member of the ANC government, they still actively believe there is a struggle.

Who knows, he wasn't too close to the RET cabal before this so he could have done things in an amateurish way that is in total contradiction to the teachings of uBaba.

Well we'll probably never know as he's politically protected.
It irks me to think this skelm considers running for ANC president.

Highly possible, as I mean the longer their rule comes, the less they seem to care about covering up anything.

Why would he be involved in Gauteng though? That tender process was province not national and they control all of that.

More money? Who knows though, it could've been kicked off by him. Though it does make it tricky

What I think is that we had at least one criminal who keeps up with current affairs and knew who was the Minister of Health, he just did not realise he doesn't control everything in the whole country.

The allegation would've been quite easy to prove or disprove unless the detectives, like you, thought it was so outlandish that they didn't bother to investigate it.

As she pulled up in front of her house, an unmarked white BMW pulled up alongside her car and fired several bullets into her vehicle. She died later in hospital.

After the incident, a neighbour alerted police he had seen the same BMW on three occasions in front of Deokaran’s house. The occupants took pictures of the house and the neighbour took photos of the car and jotted down the registration number.

Hadebe claimed that he had met the minister and a man he identified as Mkhize’s brother at Brits Mall a week before Deokaran was killed.

Very simple thing to do would be to subpoena the cellphone companies of Mkhize, and his brother and get the records of where they were at the time. And get their schedules, especially for the good ex-minister.

I have no reason to believe they would just dismiss it, they are investigating a murder case so they will follow leads they get from the investigation. They just won't hold a press conference to tell us they have investigated the confession and found it to be the truth or a lie.

Well the accusation and subsequent retraction were mentioned publicly and Mkhize is a prominent figure in government and politics.
You'd think that this would be exactly what they'd do. If only to assure the public that a proper investigation are indeed being done.

 Ok. Media reports of last year.
The accusation was reported on by the media after the accused made it public in court. He made a confession to the cops , the cops never made the confession public, when the accused went to court for bail he withdrew the accusation he made in the confession, that is how we got to know about the accusation.

The cops did not at any point call a press conference to tell us they got a confession from the accused implicating Zweli Mkhize, hence I say they are never going to do that to pronounce on the investigations they did and if the allegations have some credence to them, everything will be revealed in court when evidence is given. What is the point of going to court if they are going to give us running commentary on the investigation? At best they might have said we got a confession, not go into details about the confession.

But I could have missed it, you can go ahead and show me a statement from the cops about the confession, specifically the one that implicates Mkhize.
