A standard REM cycle is 90mins, dropping with age. For 25y you should be somewhere in the 80ish region, so make sure whatever length of time you sleep its divisible by 80mins, adjusted for time to fall asleep.
What Funker said about circadian rhythm is also true.
Sugar, TV/PC, shower/bath, exercise and caffeine & alcohol will all interfere with sleep so avoid for ~1hr before bedtime. Not just for falling asleep, but also sleep quality.
Warm duvets...dunno about that one. Excessive heat can fcks up sleep quality in a hurry.
