Slow 384

Hi guys,

We just got our line installed, and while we're sync'd at 384, I have yet to achieve any higher than ~20KBps. Is that about what to expect? Or should I be calling up Telkom?

What are you doing? http, downloading, torrents?

Yep. I've done a number of downloads, Bittorrent, Linux. A download off MWeb tucows evened out at about 19.5.

Maybe your line can't support better. How far from the exchange are you?

My modem doesn't give a real distance, but it's well under a kilometer as the crow flies.

i got my adsl installed yesterday, 384k
but it synched at 640 down and 384 up.
then telkom phoned and said they plugged a wrong card so they changing it. now its at 384 down and 128 up.
Speed i get evens out at 52kbyte before and now its 37kbytes.
So i recon telkom made a mess up somewhere as usual, give them a call and complain whenever u can.
oh and what isp u using?

I get the same thing. Telkom are supposed to be fixing it. I'm waiting...
