Hey all

In the last few days i have been getting EXTREMELY slow download speeds from torrents about 4k\s. I was wondering if this is a problem, or has Telkom done something to stuff us over again? Any1 else having these problems? Im not capped, and i still download from websites at 40K\s. Any ideas??

Any feedback that is useful would b greatly aprreciated!!!

How well seeded are the torrents you are trying? You sure all the correct ports have been opened in your router?

On my 1 gig Webafrica account i get between 200 and 300kb on the same torrents. The moment i go over to my uunet acc it drops down to 14k. This applies to all my browsing, sometimes cannot even open my google acc and it is suppose to be uncapped. Use to get about 90k till about 2 weeks ago and then it all just dropped. Probaly shaping the **** out of uunet. Friend of mine with a axxess uncapped uunet acc complains about the same thing.

Why the hell must you always open ports to download torrents or even have an unshaped account for that matter. I'm on an IS account and I have couple of Telkom accounts and mine is always downloading at full speed. Bunch of noobs.

Was downloading a single torrent at abt 30Kb/s on a 512k line with a SAIX account last night. Use Azureus with encryption, seems to help the speed.

Extremely slow connection

hi there. i hav a dsl384 connection, isp = w.africa.

over the last few days my connection has been shockingly slow.

international:

dslreports.com speed test:
123 / 59 (Kbps)
(15.1 / 7.2 KB/sec)

but strangely enough local speeds are flying!

Your line speed is approximately 429.7 Kbps or 52.7 kBytes/sec

i did recently remove a worm off my pc (vb.cc) it might be the worm thats effecting my speeds. coz it seems since i removed the virus this happened (well i think so much)

any thing i can do to check this ?
