Adsl line at 1 Mb/s from Telkom and Service provider is Mweb. I find the speed acceptable during the day, but at night it goes to a standstill.
Have been on Telkom's back since last year but fell the speed is getting slower and slower. After complaints it gets better but deteriorates just as fast. During the day I obtain speeds like .64 to even 0.9 Mb/s. But at night, like now (21:14) it does not even complete a download cycle in 3minutes. Totally HOPELESS. At night the speed drops down to 0.03Mb/s and it is impossible to download anything.
Doing a Speedtest.net test I find that service providers in Jhb downloads at .75 to .9 during the mornings and the download period varies from 9 to 14 seconds for the download packet, but in the case of Mweb that download packet (The time to complete the graph) it takes 90 to 115 seconds but still give a download speed of .56 to .65 Mb/s. Some times the download stops for a while and the continues. The graph during download from Mweb is jerky and stops at times where the download graph from the other service providers run evenly with no stopping. Can somebody explain this to me!
Now the speedtest.net does not even load and Mybroadband test runs more than 3 minutes and does not complete the download cycle.
What is happening here and how do we fix it? I am a very frustrated ADSL-user.
