Hi,

I have a co-location server with IDWS (www.idws.com) - in general I get reasonable to excellent service at a decent price.

The past two days I have problems downloading some e-mail.

A traceroute indicates a bottle neck between them and Telkom.

I called IDWS and the first question: Are you connected via ADSL? YES! There is a problem from Telkom's side sir - they say they are fixing it, but they don't know when it will be fixed.

Ok, Telkom, if this is not true, bang IDWS's heads!

Up to now IDWS never told me an untruth when service was down. I checked!

But if Telkom promises that they will call back, it usually is a lie.

So, I believe that Telkom is not attending to the problem as a matter of urgency - they only promised a "best effort" service.

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

Seems to me to be the router between them and Telkom that is the problem (196.25.132.46). Might be routing problems or that the router isn't handling the connections well enough or that there line is not big enough
